7. A simple Vegas wedding saves money
The allure of choosing to elope in Vegas is the expense savings you reap the benefits of. There are many things you won’t have to contend with when you decide to elope. You will incur less expense if you elope in Vegas than if you decide to have a large formal affair. Below you will see some comparisons of each option. You will still have some expenses if you elope but less of them.
Expenses you will avoid if you elope:
Pre-wedding dinners and parties (bachelorette and bachelor parties).
A large reception with DJ: Reception venues typically cost $2000 or more for 4 hours.
Food for all your guests: Food per person on the Vegas Strip starts at about $70-$100 per person unless it’s a buffet and buffets have disadvantages at times.
Alcohol expense: Alcohol is a huge expense if you have an open bar. The more people you have the more expensive it will get for your budget.
Decorations: The flowers, lights, dance floor and staff to accommodate setup and breakdown can be high dollar items in the end.
Transportation for guests: Your guests need to get there and back. If it’s a large party of people (30-50) bus transportation is in the $550 range just for 3 hours.
Receptions take 4 or more hours and cost on average $5-$10,000. Most receptions last around 4 hours.
Entertainment: Typically, it’s a DJ although other entertainment can cost a pretty penny.
Hair and makeup (typical costs vary but average at $225 for traditional and $255 for mobile hair and makeup services in Las Vegas. Shop around for great deals.
Tux and gown (for both around $300 to $500). Some dress shops offer evening gowns to rent and you may not need a tux if you go casual.
Transportation: The most you will need will be a 6-passenger limousine which is not expensive.
Cake: The cake will be much less if you decide to still have one. Many couples who elope have the cake at a restaurant. Some couples decide to order one and have it delivered to their hotel to enjoy later.
Dinner: You will still want to go out to eat but the cost will be much less than feeding all your family and friends.
Gifts: Since you won’t have a huge guest count for an elopement service, you won’t be receiving wedding gifts from your guests, unless you have some attending. However, it is customary for a bride and groom to give one another a small gift. If you brides have a hard time choosing a gift for your groom there are some great gift ideas on this site.
Venue costs will be much less expensive if you elope in Vegas. The cost of eloping in Las Vegas and choosing a simple venue is cheap compared to the cost of using a venue for a large group of guests. Las Vegas wedding venues typically cost $2000 and upward to several thousands of dollars to rent for a large event.
Renting a reception venue for a full blown form affair costs more because the duration of the event usually lasts 4 to 5 hours. The choice to elope means your venue will not be needed as long. The time spent at the venue for an elopement is usually one to two hours at the most but usually no more than an hour. Even if you have a unique elopement experience in Las Vegas,it will still be much cheaper than a full blown formal wedding. There are many great elopement venue choices in Las Vegas and they are much cheaper to use. You may also use the venues in creative ways that won’t break the bank.
For instance, a Nelson Ghost Town elopement is a fun experience and the venue for up to 10 people costs only $100 to rent the venue for an elopement. There are quite a lot of great options to choose for eloping in Vegas with fun venues that will fit your budget.
9. Saving on vendor expenses:Oftentimes your best deal when thinking of a Vegas Elopement, one often thinks of keeping it simple.
Hiring vendors as a DIY project is time-consuming and gets expensive. Hiring a planner that offers all in one service will make the overall experience more relaxing, enjoyable, and memorable for the right reasons.
10. Not putting people out: Some couples feel they don’t want the fuss of a wedding registry or feeling like they are making others obligated to give gifts. Some people just don’t want to put other people out and ask for gifts. Nonetheless, it is customary for a bride and groom to give one another a small gift.
11. Red Rock Wedding
For instance, when you have a small wedding for two people your choices for creative, fun and unique wedding experiences open up. You may choose to have adventurous or scenic wedding like a Las Vegas desert elopement.
Fun Vintage wedding at Nelson Ghost Town: There are a lot of scenic choices you may consider if you want to be more adventurous. I have written other articles about this topic. If eloping in Las Vegas is your dream then we hope these 11 tips make it an even easier choice for you!
Here are 7 reasons to consider hiring one to support you on your wedding day.
At Custom Las Vegas Weddings, we love planning Vegas Elopements for clients who want to celebrate their special day without any distraction from others. Clients who choose to break tradition to create something uniquely theirs to honor their relationship. Couple who understands that their wedding shouldn’t be a big event just because they’re married.
Eloping isn’t always easy – there are still lots of things to consider and plan for. However, if you’re looking for a stress free way to get married, then you don’t need to go through the hassle of navigating it yourself. We want to help you out by offering the services you need for your special day.
I think there are a number of common misunderstandings about elopments, and I’d like to clear them up! First off, most people assume that if they’re having an eloping, they can’t include any of the usual wedding elements. They think they have to do a quick ceremony and a couple of pictures, and that’s it. That’s just not the case at all! In reality, elopments are much more elaborate than that.
The beauty of eloping is that it can be whatever you want it to be. There are absolutely no rules, standards, nor any expectation. While an elopment is very different from a larger, larger event, there is still absolutely an requirement for a planner!
Eloping can be just the two or include close family and friend. Usually the total guest count will not exceed 12 guests and still be considered an elopement. Some couples choose to do a first look, photos, custom decor, first dance, cake – all the fun stuff. And this requires a great deal of thought and planning!
Even planning something as simple as a Vegas elopement comes with many questions. Some questions are easier than others — from what will your theme be to what dress will you wear? Some questions you won’t know to ask until you stumble into it, sometimes hours before your wedding — like timing vendor arrival.
Save money using an elopement planner: Much of any wedding cost goes right to the venue but with elopements you won’t have the huge price tag associated with elopement venues in Las Vegas unless you have an upscale event will all the bells and whistles.
According to this Forbes article, wedding venues cost an average of $14,006. Unsurprisingly, a poll recently found that 91 percent of couples regret spending too much, so it pays you to consider eloping to Las Vegas instead of dealing with the cost of a full blown expensive venue and wedding.
Couples often assume that hiring a wedding planner means flushing your wedding budget down the drain but it’s not true when you analyse how a planner saves you money in the long run. An experienced Vegas elopement planner has an established vendor network and can meet the needs of your budget restrictions when involvoed, even with a downsized elopement.
Rather than wasting gas and time and settling on a vendor to “just be done with a decision”, invest in an elopement planning adviser. In the end you will save more money by having someone help you than not. You may then put that money toward your honeymoon or life goals as a couple. A planner will not only help you determine what budget you need but will help you stay within your budget. Who doesn’t like saving money?
What does a Las Vegas Elopement Planner do?
Planning an elopement doesn’t require much thought, but if you’re thinking about having an arch, rentals, and more customized touches, then you’ll probably find yourself needing to do a little more planning. You may not realize how much work goes into planning an elopement until you actually start doing it.
Since most elopements involve just the bride and groom and a few friends or family members, the focus may be on you as the couple and this is one of the reasons couples decide to elope. They may spend their planning time away from a lot of external distractions.
Primarly, a Vegas Elopement planner will manage the entire event from start to finish and take the stress out of planning the details, such as scheduling experienced vendors from their personal networks. This could be any vendor from the photographer to an official for your wedding.
It is important to understand the most significant aspects of their elopment before speaking to a wedding elopement organizer. These include what their budget is or how many guests should come to the elopment. Planners do not have to learn every little detail, but the basic data will be needed to assist the organizer to understand your vision. The greater your needs are comprehended correctly, the simpler the arranging will be.
Here is a list of standard services Las Vegas elopement planners provide:
Organize entire event
Schedule all vendors
Here is the inherent value and duties a Las Vegas Elopement planner will attend to that you may not have considered. Perhaps you will see the benfit of the services and decide you dont’ want to go in alone and plan your elopement alone.
1. Organizing entire event
An excellent elopement planner should know how to create a detailed timeline. When having a simple wedding for two or even when only a handful of guests present, the duties of a wedding planner are not quite as entailed a planning a large wedding event.
Nonetheless, the planner should create a basic timeline for their clients and hand it out to the vendors, such as the photographer, coordinator, and all the vendors involved. The vendors should approve the timeline to ensure everyone is in sync.
Planners are one of the most important elements of an elopement. They take charge of everything, from the small details like reminding about bringing the licensing and rings along, which can be a big issue, if someone forgets them, to the big ones, like making sure the chauffer gets to the correct location.
A professional organizer helps you organize everything for your big day. They vet the vendors and stay in control of events for your big day, lifting the burden of stress off your shoulders so you and your fiance enjoy yourselves.
2. Scheduling Vendors
The wedding planner will act as an intermediary between the couple and all the various service providers involved in the wedding. They make sure that everything runs smoothly so that the couple can relax and enjoy themselves without worrying about details.
It can be difficult to let the dream go when you’ve spend years imagining what your wedding would be like. Obsessing over every little detail is natural, but it can also hold you back — filling your day with endless imagined disasters. On your big day, you deserve to tune out the stressful stuff and focus on your big moment.
A Las Vegas elopement planner will know the local market well and be able to call upon the most reputable list of professional wedding vendors. Here is a list of vendors you may need for your elopement.
Floral and decor vendors
Photographer and videographer
Hair, makeup, tux and gown
Finding the right vendor for each job is intrinsic to making your dream Las Vegas wedding come true. Connecting you with the most reputable vendors such as florists and hair and make up vendors are all important elements that come down to having the right connections.
3. Conflict resolution
You can almost always count on having unexpected issues leading up to and on your wedding day. For instance, some remote locations such as having a wedding outdoors at Red Rock canyon will provide some challenges couples will not be prepared for such as weather fluctuationsand having no cell phone service. A local planner will know how to make sure the guests get to the right location without getting lost and oversee the limousine vendor to make sure they also get to the right location.
Another issue that has actually happened in our experience has been a hotel malfunction, leaving our customers tux and gown soaked in water after the hotel sprinklers go off and drown your attire in water. In this case a planner will reach out to the tux and gown vendor and arrange a last minute solution for your attire and help with the delays you experience.
Sometimes, in Vegas, we run in to bad weather conditions for outdoor events and it’s good to have a planner on your side when this happens. They will guide you to know what to wear and how to navigate the situation to be safe, dry and warm in inclement weather conditions.
A planner is “on point” in each of these little situations. An excellent Vegas elopement planner will guide you through these unexpected issues and help resolved them discreetly.
4. Day of elopement coordination
Day of coordination essentially means organizing and ensuring everything goes as planned for the wedding day. Their job also involves helping couples overcome any last minute challenges or problems that may arise.
A wedding ceremony is an official event: there are cues to follow, people to manage, maybe special vows to share, songs to play, and so on. Without someone to organize everything, your event may be disorganized and disjointed. And if you’re worried about the wrong song playing when you walk down the aisle, the elopement planner has that covered too.
Here is a smalll list of the duties a day of elopement coordinator will do:
Checking on the marriage license and rings to ensure they are with you when you leave the hotel
Ensuring the limo driver knows where they are going and helping you connect with them properly
Confirming your guests and VIP’s make it the correct location and are present for the wedding
Overseeing the decor setup is done properly, including breakdown timing
Meeting, confirming and overseeing the vendor payments, set up, etc.
Running a ceremony walk through and overseeing music or musician timing
Oversee flower pinning and bouquet, boutonniere distribution
Having emergency supplies and other needed elements on hand
Making sure the event ends on time and all is in order
There are a lot more duties a day of coordinator ends up doing but this is just a fragment of the support they provide.
5. Planning itinerary
You may prefer to take care of specific details yourself but when it comes to scheduling the itinerary you often lose out when choosing a chapel, for instance. Chapels don’t typically plan an itinerary for your event from the time you are planned to be picked up from the hotel to when you return. They have limitations.
A planner, on the other hand, will help you plan the details surrounding your event and be able to not only pair you with the right transportation company and cater to the periphery needs you may have, such as arranging the final drop off point to a hotel or arranging extra services after the ceremony such as a photo tour.
The itinerary will cover when you are picked up, how long you will be at the venue and intriquate details until you reach the final destination when it’s all complete.
6. Customizing decor
It’s not a requirement to have custom decor but some couples want that. It’s great to have something unique and special for your ceremony backdrop. A planner will help you envision this and organize it to make it happen for you.
Wedding planners know local florists and have worked with them extensively. They will bring you cost savings with respect to setting up chairs or arches, decor and flowers and will help give the needed directions you need. Then they will send you the estimate and pull it all together for you so that it is transported, set up and torn down in the most organized, timely fashion for your event.
When decor is customized for you, the planner will create a mood board to showcase your colors, photos of the flowers and give you an overview of what to expect.
A Vegas elopement planner will customize your decor so you can have your dream and still save money. Any aspect of your wedding can be customized. If you see you a particular idea or ambiance in mind — send the ideas along to the planner and they will make it happen.
It’s more than just hiring someone to decorate. The planner is the epicenter of the planning experience and making sure the decor set up and break down occurs without a hitch.
Anyone who is helping you plan your special occasion should care and hold your vision close to their heart, after all they becomes an active part of this meaningful moment of your lives. They will share that vision with you and be your support, offering advise at important junctures of your planning experience.
Legal details: Your planner should be knowledgeable about the legal licensing details you need to know. There are definite rules in Las Vegas about licensing and what you need to know for the legalities when you are preparing for getting married. This can be a little confusing and it especially matters if you are traveling from overseas. If you are traveling to Las Vegas from another country or even from a different state where, it can be at a definite disadvantage.
This means you might come across situations you where may be taken advantage of by the hustlers in Las Vegas. If you have an adviser and confidant who knows Las Vegas you will be safer. This means the all the details will be handled with care and guests will be at the right place at the right time.
You should be free to enjoy the big picture of your wedding and future together blissfully without worrying about unexpected issues, staying in budget and getting all the little details right. Check out our part two which covers the ins and outs of how your Vegas wedding planner masters the seemingly endless to-do list with calm expertise. Meanwhile, you show off those fancy boots, look your best and celebrate your big day.

You might be thinking you want to elope in Las Vegas, just so you don’t have to deal with the stress of wedding planning. However, you don’t just want to elope to Las Vegas without thinking through the pros and cons of everything first.
Many couples are faced with the decision to either have a big wedding or decide on a smaller wedding and eloping in Vegas provides many great possibilities. The info-graphic next to this article, created by the Wedding Band Shop, outlines the pros and cons you need to consider when deciding if you want to elope or not. Eloping is not a decision I advise you to rush into. Think about all the pros and cons when making the decision. This article will take you through the pros and cons to help you decide.
What do you envision for your wedding? Do you dream of walking down the wedding aisle with all eyes on you? If so, you will want to either reconsider your decision or put aside those emotions.
How well does your family work together and with you on decisions? If your family doesn’t work well together or if they often clash with your ideas and decisions, eloping offers a great choice to avoid conflict in your wedding experience.
Do you really want to elope or are the frustrations of planning pushing you into the decision? If you have given up on the idea of a larger wedding just because of the frustrations you are experiencing, you may want to step back and re-think it. Frustrated feelings are most often natural emotional reactions to stress whether you elope or not. You will be out of your comfort zone when planning. You just need to decide how far out of your comfort zone you want to go.
What does your partner want? The final choice should belong to both you and your partner. What do they want? Ask them and then consider some of the pros and cons and in the end, doing so will help you arrive at a mutual decision.
Have you considered all the options? Eloping is not the only choice of course. It suits a lot of couples but you will need to decide what aspects of your wedding are most important to you in the end and act accordingly.
Is there a chance you will regret your decision? If you think there is a chance you will look back and regret your decision, you will want to really take the time and think it through with your partner.
It’s less expensive – You avoid many of the costs associated with larger weddings when you decide to elope in Las Vegas. The cost of eloping in Vegas pales in comparison when you factor in the guest count, restaurant fees, and decoration costs, not to mention the formal cost of planning a formal affair. For example, many venues including ours offer all-inclusive elopement packages in Vegas.
You call the shots – Elopement puts you and your partner back in control. You can rest assured you are making decisions you want to make without any unwanted family coercion and intrusions on your wishes.
Only VIP’s are present – Whether you decide it will just be the two of you or if you want to bring along a select number of family or friends, you are only having those you really want there at your wedding.
Privacy – When you have a large formal wedding event you spend a majority of your time around other people, pleasing them and entertaining them. With an audience of 200 guests, it’s difficult to enjoy the private moments with your new partner.
Hurt Feelings – No matter where you decide to elope, one problem some people might face when thinking about eloping is the potential hurt feelings. Not all the family will agree with your decision to get married Las Vegas and the reality is you may have to deal with some fallout. Hopefully, most of your friends and family will be supportive and in the majority of cases, people love the weather and entertainment, not to mention the gambling opportunism most people love about Las Vegas.
Fewer Gifts – If you are in need of receiving necessary gifts for the household in your newlywed life or if you want to receive personal remembrance gifts that mean a lot of you, the variety and amount will not be as plentiful if you elope.
Less Extravagance – Smaller weddings are often less glamorous affairs than the larger formal events. That is not always the case but they certainly will not carry the formal flair and glamour a larger wedding affords.
Dependence of vendors – You may choose a number of vendors or no vendors at your smaller Vegas elopement. This can be a pro or con depending on your opinion. Often times if you want a simple elopement in Vegas you will want a photographer to capture your affair for posterity. But you may choose to only have a ceremony and use your friends and family to take photos or video. If you choose a Vegas elopement for two, it will be essential to choose a photographer to be your witness. Choose a vendor that will allow you to use your own photos and not make you dependent on them entirely.
Fewer guests to witness – With fewer guests attending, there will be fewer people to reminisce with you about your wedding day later. Of course, if you get a video or photo and have a get together later with a slideshow of the event that will help. That is what many couples who elope decide to do but it still is not the same as being there to share it with you.
Do take care of all the legal details: Whether you decide to elope or not, you will need to do the research needed to make sure you meet all the legal specifications to enable you to elope. We have included this link to a video and overview on our website to guide help you know what you need to know to get married in Las Vegas.
Do hire a local wedding planner: Choose your Las Vegas wedding planner carefully. Base it on not only your budget but also what the planner will bring to the table. It would be wise to ensure the vendor has experience with respect to Las Vegas wedding planning. It is important to choose a vendor who will be proficient to guide you in either scenario, whether you decide to have a small wedding elopement in Vegas or a large formal affair.
Do send marriage announcements: It is courteous and proper protocol to send out wedding announcements to those in your life. Doing so keeps you connected and enables everyone to know your final decision. You can also showcase the elopement photos in your announcement or use this opportunity to invite them to your event at home.
Do plan an event afterward at home: Most couples who elope in Vegas do plan to have a follow-up celebration inviting friends and family. This will afford the opportunity to showcase your photo or video slideshow and all people to still be a part of the event in a small way.
Don’t underplay it: If you do decide to elope in Las Vegas, treat it just like you would a bigger wedding. It is still your wedding so make sure to celebrate just as much and don’t underplay it just because you’re eloping.
Don’t forget to budget: Get ready to elope in Las Vegas by looking over our budget overview which outlines important questions you need to answer about your budget essentials. For ideas on how to get married in Las Vegas and how to budget for your Vegas wedding, read this article.

When my husband and I decided to get married in Las Vegas, one of the main things we wanted to do was a photo shoot at The Neon Museum. I had no clue how to go about this being in PA and there were a lot of things needed such as permits and such. After some google searches I found Custom Las Vegas Weddings. I reached out and Julie made this dream possible! She made it so easy for us and was always in contact and extremely professional! I’m so so thankful for her and all the work she did to make this possible! We got our pictures back so fast as well, they are stunning, and our photographer was just amazing!! This was seriously a dream come true thanks to Custom Las Vegas Weddings, Julie, and Jack! Thank you all!

You finally decided on the perfect destination wedding experience and chose a Red Rock wedding. But there are details you need to know to plan for having a wedding at Red Rock Canyon and this article gives important facts, tips and ways to make it a more comfortable and successful experience.
Compared to the Las Vegas Valley, there is typically a seven degree difference to prepare for in elevation and sometimes the difference can be greater. Each season brings its surprises. Here are a few seasonal tips for planning around the weather for a Red Rock Wedding Las Vegas or photo shoot.
A Spring Wedding in Red Rocks
Spring Time Red Rock Weddings Las Vegas
The spring welcomes wildflowers in the lower elevations that pop out of the ground like butterflies from their cocoons. The remnants of winter chill the early morning. The wind picks up and the day is cool with clear skies. Springtimebrings the transitionseasonofwinter to anend.Fallbrings the transition season of spring toanend.
If you don’t mind crisp air, a spring Red Rock wedding is beautiful among the wildflowers. Enjoy milder weather and sunshine between noon and mid-afternoon. Though cool, the sun’s rays can still burn your skin, so be sure to bring sunscreen.
The temperature steadily rises in spring. Click here for an hourly temperature guide from the official Red Rock Canyon site. This is an accurate and very helpful resource to keep updated on the weather.
In March, the high reaches 65° F. In April, the high is 73° F, and in May, the temperature reaches up to 82° F.
Springtime is a great time to get married at Red Rock Wedding Las Vegas however it may still be windy. As the colder winter conditions subside, there is an air conversion effect which causes increased wind to come in to the Las Vegas valley and surrounding areas. You may want to have your wedding in the valley at Red Rock Canyon. A great place to have your wedding ceremony that is more protected from the wind is at Ash Springs. It does require a small 10 minute hike to get there however. Being closer to the rocks does seem to provide more refuge from the wind than the Red Rock Wedding Las Vegas overlook or the Amphitheater area does.
Summer is dry and sunny and and as the summer heat builds up it will cause thunderstorms to build as the monsoon season approaches. Temperatures can feel scorching in the 100’s. In June, the high starts at an average 93° F.
There is no avoiding the heat and summer also brings a good dose of humidity when the monsoon season hits. Monsoon season in Las Vegas officially starts early to mid-July from early to mid-September. July and August are the most humid months in the Las Vegas Valley and Red Rock Canyon also experiences the same conditions if not worse. The mountain ranges there seem to attract in the storms. We constantly keep an eye on the weather and stay updated.
To cope with the intense heat we tend to schedule weddings after the sun goes behind the mountains or is close to setting. Be sure to bring plenty of water to stay hydrated. Consider bringing an umbrella or parasol a part of your wedding day. Some brides now prefer to carry parasols and other personalized alternatives in the place of a bridal bouquet. Many of the allowed locations for weddings in Red Rock State Park don’t offer shade. A desert summer requires sunscreen and grit.
Whenever Custom Las Vegas Weddings plans your wedding, they will make sure your limousine provides bottled water and a glorious invention that pushes out cold air, commonly known as air conditioning. We definitely recommend getting an early start. Late weddings can be beautiful and when the sun isn’t directly shining on you it can seem less scorching, but the rocks still hold the heat of the day to be careful when sitting or lying on the rocks.
Elope at Red Rock Canyon in the Autumn
As summer temperatures fade, a fall Red Rock wedding will feature mild and lovely weather conditions. Mid-September, the entire month of October up until mid-November seems to be Red Rock Canyon weathers sweet spot. The weather is absolutely gorgeous. It’s a very comfortable temperature as a standard with low wind.
Monsoon weather is usually over by the 1st week of September and raises only the occasional concern. Don’t get caught in the rain near a body of water or you may end up in a flash flood.
It will be the responsibility of your Las Vegas wedding planner to guide you in getting the timing right for your wedding in the desert. In September the sun sets around 7 pm. By October the sun sets around 6:30 and the later in the month it’s around 6 pm. November brings a time clock change and clocks roll back an hour with sunset at 4:45 pm.
A Winter Red Rock Wedding Las Vegas
The winter weather at Red Rock Canyon tends toward chilly and sometimes wind accompanies the rain attracted to the mountain areas. Layering is strongly advised and bring a warm coat. You can find fashionable wedding cover-up garments that will keep you nice and warm. It is also advisable to bring a hat or wrap around for your head. The wind can be sharp and cold on some winter days.
From mid-January to the beginning of March Red Rock can experience periodic bouts of rain in the forecast. The mountain range tends to attract the storms. If you have a wedding scheduled when there is rain in the forecast it is advisable to keep a close eye on what is happening as flooding often occurs in the wash areas of Red Rock Canyon. The Bureau of Land Management controls the permits for weddings in Las Vegas. If there is any danger they will contact your Las Vegas wedding planner who is helping you and issue a warning. They will also work with the planner to reschedule the wedding if needed due to safety reasons.
In winter temperatures usually reach the mid-fifties by day, but warmer weather can occur. It’s best to have a winter Red Rock wedding in the early to mid-afternoon to take advantage of warmer temperatures.
From mild to cold weather, you don’t need to worry about sunscreen too much. Of course in winter the sun goes down earlier and ducks behind some of the tall mountain range by 3:30 to 4 PM. You will want to consider having your Las Vegas desert wedding earlier in the afternoon if you want to capture some warm from the sunlight to offset the cool weather. Even in the desert, blankets of snow cover the Red Rock Canyon mountains after a snowstorm and snowstorms do happen then.
Let Nature Inspire Your Wedding
Red Rock State Park is made up of 286 sprawling acres with stunning scenery. Trails meander through juniper and manzanita to the edge of Oak Creek. The creek travels around the park, enriching the riparian habitat with abundant wildlife and native plants.
Do be careful with the natural habitat at Red Rock Canyon. There are hefty fines in place established by the BLM for breaking the rules so don’t feed the burros. You also need to know that the desert tortoise at Red Rock is considered endangered and you must not stand within 5 feet of them or else there is a hefty fine.
This ancient and scenic environment provides several beautiful backdrops for a dream outdoor wedding in nature. Take advantage of warmer weather and walk the trails several months or a year before your wedding to get ideas about theme, color scheme and possible weather conditions.
Keep in mind that only certain areas of the park permit weddings and no weddings are permitted on the scenic drive. Custom Las Vegas Weddings is one company that is approved to perform weddings at Red Rock Canyon. They hold a permit for 3 of the designated areas to have a wedding in Red Rock. They will be able to guide you in very creative and romantic experiences at Red Rock Canyon.
Red Rock State Park visitor’s center website is a great resource and place to learn about the history of Red Rock. It is located at the entry of the scenic drive which is a must see if you have the time. You are instructed on the various life zones of the park, which include plant life, wildlife, history and archaeology. Make note of the plant life and colors you see. If you’re a fan of birds, bird walks and hiking trails abound. Remember to always leave the park as you found it.
Planning Wedding Attire around Red Rock Weather
It’s a popular idea to showcase the backdrop of the scenic mountain range with a cactus bouquet or artificial flowers as natures alter. Have your Vegas wedding planner style your wedding at Red Rock and help you create your own unique vision to match the environment.
Be creative and incorporate blush or pastel colors into your theme, bouquet and wedding attire or have Custom Las Vegas Weddings help you plan a Las Vegas desert wedding that will be very private and unique for you.
Imagine the use of blue and yellow primary colors against the red rocks of the park. Blue, violet or silver hues would also look lovely in a winter wedding. Let the natural dusky hues bring out the wild romantic in you.
You must keep your attire choices in mind as you plan around the weather. Don’t sacrifice your dream wedding wear, but do remain conscious of your fabric choices. Be prepared to carry wedding gown trains.
Imagine custom-made vegan or leather boots or pastel color dress and tux styling for your wedding that match the desert landscape.
If it’s a little rainy and muddy, you don’t want to sacrifice delicate and expensive shoes. Bring along an extra pair of shoes to walk the trails and put your expensive shoes in a carry bag or tote. Then when you are ready to start the planning for the wedding ceremony and photos get those beautiful shoes out and let your style shine. Don’t forget umbrellas or a stylish parasol.
Layer up for chilly weather, and wear SPF makeup and sunscreen for hotter months. Umbrellas or parasols also come in handy to provide instant shade from the scorching sun.
Red Rock provides an inspiring landscape for a stunning destination wedding. Let nature inspire your Red Rock wedding Las Vegas, but keep the changing seasons in mind as you plan.
