What services are provided?
Custom Vegas Weddings provides quality services. We offer eloping in Vegas packages as well as other periphery services to customize packages for couples. We have spent time building a network of wedding venues in Las Vegas. The vendors we collaborate with are long standing associates and pros. We provide only the best wedding professionals as vendors for my clients.
These are some the main Las Vegas wedding planning services provided:
• Procuring booking with established venues and planning the event • Creating an itinerary for the client and vendors • Helping with the preliminary details before the event • Assisting customer with hair/makeup, tux/gown • Guidance to help client choose flowers for event • Setting up all vendors (photographer, transportation, etc.) • Client vendor correspondence and assistance • Arranging the payment for vendors on behalf of the client
Examples of the a la carte services and customized options:
Some examples of a la carte options:
Planning and ordering a wedding cake Scheduling specialized décor
How are services customized?
If our customers want to customize their services we have conversation with them first about the ideas and options we suggest. Then the customer can modify the package based on their needs and guest count and circumstances. If they want to add in a la carte services, they may do so. For instance, transportation, design elements, video, more photos, a cake, etc.
How involved in planning do the customers get to be?
It’s important for our customers to be fully involved in the details and decision for their wedding. Most people choose our services because they don’t want to have to think about too many details or be too restricted about their choices. Most of our clients choose to be very involved in planning for their wedding. We always welcome their input and creativity.
Fun moment of exchange with wedding party
What’s not involved in the planning services you offer?
Our clients are primarily Las Vegas destination wedding couples, traveling to Vegas from other cities and countries and don’t live in Las Vegas. Sometimes, they do want pre-wedding meetings and if they do, there is an hourly a la carte charge for that service. For the destination wedding couple we recomment clients use online conferencing, email and phone to go over details.
We keep pricing comparatively affordable and cater primarily with couples who want to elope in Vegas. If you are needing reception planning we do collaborate with other full-service planners and will refer people who are looking for that kind of services in touch with my associate planner. The service quote we work up for clients will specify the services provided.

How do you differ from other Las Vegas destination elopement planners in Las Vegas?
Our services are a departure from the cookie cutter chapel wedding services in Las Vegas. Being an independent Las Vegas elopement planning service, we provide more flexibility to think outside the box and offer unique elopement add on services to make your event special at a more affordable price point. For example, adding décor for a romantic setting and scheduling other periphery services.
What are some examples of the packages offered for customization?
For example, this list highlights elopement location choices available to clients.

How involved are you in the day of wedding experience?
You can count on us to help you plan your wedding day. From the time of booking, we are reaching out and guiding every step until it’s all over; if need be for an extra set or flower arrangements because let’s face it- nothing looks worse than having empty spaces where flowers should go! A few days before -in case anyone has any last minute questions-, then just one final touch beforehand means everything towards making sure everything goes smoothly during such special times together as marriage proposals begin with “I Do”
How far in advance do couples need to reserve services with you?
Our clients should give at least a months’ notice when they want to reserve one of our venues. More advance notice will secure better results and if you plan on waiting until 3 weeks before the wedding day, it may not be as likely for that venue availability since most people request services within this time frame. You needn’t worry about making full payment right away though because all costs are finalized 3 weeks prior!
Do you handle all the contracts and payment processing for clients eloping in Vegas?
A quote and contract is drawn up for for our clients to view, approve and sign. The quotes are itemized for clients. Some Vegas wedding venues require the clients sign the contract directly with the venue but we do facilitate sending the documents and helping keep track of signing and payment to the venues on behalf of the client. We also correspond with vendors for our clients, facilitate and oversee all the pertinent permits needed and pay the vendors on behalf of our clients.
Do you handle rentals for clients?
We schedule and set up the vendor rentals for each event. This includes the scheduling, correspondence with the vendors for scheduling the rentals, delivery, arrival and set up, and breakdown of rentals. A good example would be for props to be used for custom photo events, floral items, decorations such as chairs, floral, musicians, etc.
What is the deposit for booking a wedding?
All venues and vendors require a different deposit. Deposit terms will be specified in the venue contract the client will sign. We collect all the data and ensure the correct deposits are paid for by the client to reserve the venue and vendor services they want. Initially, we collect a wedding planning deposit which is a retainer for services. The deposit amount will be determined by the services procured.
When is the final payment due?
The final payment is due 3 weeks prior to the event. If the client initiates services within the 3-week timeframe of the event, the full amount is due then.
Do you help the clients pay the vendors?
Yes, we handle the planning and payment on behalf of the client for the vendors. The more services the client receives, the more itemized the invoice will be and the client will be able to see the charges for each service received.
Are there additional fees clients should know about?
Because we have the client agree to a quote, they will have all the charges up front when they sign the contract. The only time there would be any additional charges would be if the client requests more a la carte services after the quote has been signed. In this case I will revise the invoice and the client will see the charges and agree to them at that time.
What happens if the customer needs to change the date of the event?
As the elopement event planner, we will step in and advocate for the client to re-arranged the services and change the date or time. I just ask the clients to try to give me at least 3 weeks’ notice, if possible. I have often done this for clients and it’s dependent on many factors, not the least of which is whether the date is available with all the vendors and venue as well as my own schedule. This might happen if the couple has to postpone or change the event date.
Is the deposit or final payment refundable?
The planning fees are not refundable as it is considered a planning retainer for the event. The initial planning deposit is taken as a retainer to pay for wedding planning services that are rendered before the wedding takes place. Planning for an event requires behind the scenes office work, outreach to vendors, scheduling the venue, helping the client sign contracts, taking payments, email correspondence, creating the itinerary and much more. The planning is done prior to the 3-week timeline before the wedding day. For this reason we do not refund the planning fee to clients.
The final payment for the event and venue is typically due within the 3-week timeframe prior to the wedding. At that time, if the final payment has been made, it becomes non-refundable. If the wedding needs to be rescheduled, in most cases the venues will work with the clients. Each venue differs in their credit and refund policies. It is best to clarify these details from the venue before you book to know what to expect if there is a disaster beyond your control.

1. Nelson Ghost Town Desert Wedding
The quaint, vintage Nelson Ghost Town sits near a previously known gold mine. With its abandoned buildings, antiques, old vehicles, and a desert landscape, this looks like a place straight out of a film set. This iconic location is near Las Vegas and is still utilized as a backdrop for films and commercials. The variety of props, trucks and old memorabilia makes it a fantastic option for a rustic vintage Las Vegas desert elopement idea that is perfect for wedding ceremonies. We have performed hundreds of wedding ceremonies at Nelson and our couples absolutely love the relaxed atmosphere. The photo opportunities are endless.
This is one of the upscale resorts in the elegant Aston Montelago Village, which is located at the romantic Lake Las Vegas. Its cobblestone streets, historic-looking buildings, fountains, and a gorgeous view of the lake. Choosing this venue and pairing it with an in suite wedding or booking one of their gazebos or private areas are options to consider. We would pair the ceremony with breathtaking photo book memories of the experience in this Mediterranean style resort setting. It will bring an Italian vibe to your Las Vegas desert wedding experience.
Red Rock Canyon is named as a National Conservation Area by the Federal Government. The Bureau of Land Management governs the park and administers permits for Red Rock Canyon wedding ceremonies. It’s a perfect and very popular location if you want to experience a Las Vegas desert elopement. Its mountain ranges are part of the Mojave Desert and its geological features were formed by the Keystone Thrust Fault.
On top of that, its 13-mile scenic drive with breathtaking panoramic views is one of the reasons why many couples choose this unique wedding venue in Las Vegas. Many wedding couples will combine a Red Rock canyon wedding ceremony with a scenic drive photo tour or other areas near to capture the romance of your day and experience a Las Vegas desert elopement.

Ash Springs at Red Rock Canyon
Ash Springs is part of the Red Rock Canyon. This area will require you and your guest to take a hike for at least 15 minutes one way to reach the romantic tree where most ceremonies are done. There are many other nice spots to have a ceremony there as well.
The romantic view at the top is worth the hike after all. However, the weather can be unpredictable. My clients often ask me if there a is a plan B in the event of inclement weather. Any time you have an outdoor desert wedding you take a gamble, but this is Vegas, so to hedge your bets you want to pick a great season to have the wedding for starters.
Read this article to learn more about preparing for the weather for a Red Rock wedding. This article will give you essential tips you need to know which will help guide you to make a decision on the right month to prepare for a Red Rock Canyon wedding.
For those who think of getting married here during spring, Ash Springs would be the perfect choice. Red Rock Canyon may still get windy, though, in springtime. During this season, an air conversion happens and increases the wind to the Las Vegas valley and its surrounding areas. Ash Springs is a place where everyone can be protected from the wind, making it an ideal venue for your wedding.
If you are looking for cheap elopement ideas in Las Vegas, we provide styled elopement packages at an assortment of local Las Vegas parks. Our wedding couples who travel to Las Vegas find it surprising we have as many parks as we do. Lamb State Park, also known as Tulle Springs features a lake and mature shade trees as well as a myriad of nature. There is a small gazebo there and a white picket fence with peacocks and desert wildlife. The natural desert scenery and beauty of this scenic historical park has made it an outdoor desert wedding venue choice for many couples. There are other parks we also recommend such as Wetlands park. This park is not well known to Las Vegas visitors but showcases a beautiful bridge, a small pond and many trails to explore. The desert mountain views surrounding the park make a natural backdrop for engaging and scenic photo opportunities.
This is a great location to set up decorative props for a very customized wedding experience. View our wedding design gallery and view some prop elopement ideas.

Lake Mead Scenic Desert Overlook
A desert wedding at Lake Mead in Nevada would be better if it’s paired with a scenic photo tour at Lake Las Vegas. Check out this YouTube video showing the plane blowing in 3000 Miles to Graceland. It’s a clip from the movie and the plane crash at Nelson is what is left from the explosion. I am my vendor team of professionals at Custom Las Vegas Weddings had a blast seeing their love and admiring the fun they had there during their Nelson ghost town elopement. What a joy it was to be around them. They were such fun loving people and had quite a laugh. They especially love the romantic vintage atmosphere at Nelson Ghost Town. As you see from the photos, they are so in love and had the time of their life posing and exploring the props and site.
Henk and Iris Peel traveled from the Netherlands to get married at Nelson Ghost Town
Nelson Ghost town in Eldorado Canyon has an old mine on the property which has daily guided tours. It showcases vintage relics such as old cars and buildings, old buildings, rusty antique trucks and more including a great collection of vintage signs. Fun times and cheeky peek a boo at Nelson Landing Eldorado Canyon Nevada
Having a Nelson Ghost Town elopement was the best choice for Henk and Iris. Iris is a photo officinato in the Netherlands and loved taking photos herself, even during her own wedding. She loved the vintage theme and it was her love of the idea that prompted them to have a Nelsons Landing wedding. They had such an incredible time exploring and posing for photos with the old props, crashed airplane, air-stream trailer and they even decided to get in the old rusty tubs.
A perfect ending to a beautiful day. Congratulations you two!
Some people say it only takes only 20 minutes to get to Nelson Ghost Town. I will caution you here on that and add, it really depends on where you start from and what the traffic is like on the day. It has always taken me 1 hour to travel there because the road used to get there is under construction and Las Vegas traffic has become more congested recently.
Here is a map below showing directions to Nelson’s Landing where the Ghost Town is. You will want to leave extra time to get there if you are traveling in your own vehicle.
To get to the Nelson’s Landing take US-95 South toward Boulder City. You will want to keep alert because the Searchlight exit comes up quickly on the right just before you reach Boulder City. It’s a very small sign and easy to miss but if you do miss it you have to go to Boulder City and do a U-Turn. As you travel toward Searchlight there is a large dry lake bed (on your right) at about the ten mile marker. When you pass the dry lake bed, you will a large solar panel field and that is your marker to look to the left. On the left is a very small sign (Exit 165) that says Nelson on your left. Take that exit and drive another 10-12 miles and it will take you right into the town of Nelson, Nevada where the ghost town is.
For those of you who want to explore alternatives to the traditional wedding setting that is offered within urban areas, Eldorado Canyon represents a unique and unforgettable experience. An abandoned town, located near a former gold mine, this popular location offers a secluded and private venue for your wedding ceremony.
The setting itself is sufficient to enrich the ceremony, featuring a number of abandoned buildings, antiques, vintage vehicles, and the unmatched desert landscape. For those of you who enjoy vintage ceremonies, Nelson is a great chance to experience one in its natural setting. The style is that of the late 1800’s, so expect your wedding to be nontraditional and unique.
Here is a scene from the past. Fun stuff.
This unique desert location goes by many names such as Eldorado Canyon, Nelson’s Landing, or Eldorado ghost town event center at Searchlight, NV. This abandoned community looks like a real-life movie set. It is located fairly close to Las Vegas at it also proves practical for wedding ceremonies and celebration events. This has become a very popular place to have an Eldorado mine ghost town adventure.
Nelson Landing Weddings
Aside from the experience of Nelson Ghost town weddings, people often visit Nelson town for photo shoots, filming commercials and themed parties. Many of these are organized independently, but that requires a lot of work.
Now — that is a unique old vehicle !
A DIY wedding, for example, requires herculean effort. Partially because the town is at a 45 minute driving distance from Las Vegas, but also because it lacks certain facilities. Organizing everything will take dozens of trips back and forth, and will cost a lot of time and money.
Independent transportation can also be expensive, and you’d have to spend some time logistically planning the transport, which when scaled at 50 or so guests adds up to frustration.
Location choices for Eldorado Canyon Weddings
For those of you who love the vintage Las Vegas wedding style, Nelsons landing offers several venue options. The three most popular ones however, are the main barn, the cactus barn, and the cactus garden.
This wedding video below shows clients of mine, Henk and Iris, who traveled all the way from the Netherlands to have their wedding at Nelson Ghost Town. Iris is a professional photographer herself and wanted to take photos of the old cars and unique relics. They immersed their selves in to the fun it all thoroughly as you can tell from the fun video. They really had the time of their lives and made some fantastic memories. Watch this video as it showcases the various props and fun paraphernalia to enjoy at this old unique ghost town in the Nevada desert.
In Henk and Iris’ case they wanted to take in the site and spend more time exploring and walking around. They decided to rent a car and drive there themselves and enjoy many hours taking it all in snapping all the photos they could. Some couples having a destination wedding in Las Vegas have decided this as well. It does save money not to spend a lot of the limousine ride there and back. It takes 1 hour each way to travel to Nelson Ghost Town which is sometimes a bit difficult to find.
The Main barn is probably the perfect setting for those who’d prefer the vintage desert style, but still what to be partially protected from the elements. It is a very intimate setting, for a lofty and unforgettable ceremony.
Looking out from the two story barn hayloft. A romantic place.
The property also offers countless areas for exploration and unique nelson ghost town photography. So make sure to schedule according to your number of guests. The main barn is likely the best option for a unique themed Las Vegas wedding ceremony.
Here is some tips to make your Nelson Ghost Town wedding ceremony more comfortable
The desert landscape and vintage setting will do most of the job for creating a wonderful vintage atmosphere. But make sure to communicate with your partner and important guests, in order to organize a cohesive appearance. This will further immerse guests into the Las Vegas vintage style, and make your photographs elegant and unforgettable.
Do note that there is no electricity around, so plan upfront, and book an acoustic band if you are planning to bring the music along. Some musicians are prepared, and know how to find a way around this hurdle, but you have to communicate this upfront.
Considering the small number of important guests attending the ceremony, you should send them a number of useful tips, so safety is guaranteed and nothing stands a chance of ruining the wedding experience. Adequate footwear is a must, because you will be exposed to the desert, where there are nails, cactus and glass abound. Another important precaution you have to make is to ensure people are constantly hydrated. So either plan upfront and bring refreshments, or write to your guests to factor dehydration as well. If sensitive to certain temperature extremes, make sure to follow the weather forecast and book appropriately.
While there is no electricity around, you don’t have to worry about restroom facilities.
If you still haven’t decided upon a date for your wedding ceremony, have in mind that fall and spring have the ideal desert temperature. As far as time of day goes, you can enrich the romantic setting by having the ceremony at sunset.
Exploration will add another element to the whole wedding experience, so allow your guests to wander around by booking and organizing your ceremony appropriately. There is hardly a better opportunity to enjoy the Old West.

It is quite an organizational hurdle, so it’s better sit back, and let someone who plans weddings for a living help you. Many brides-to-be are overestimating themselves trying to organize a perfect DIY wedding, only to find out an insurmountable challenge ahead.
And this is perfectly understandable, because professionals pour in lots of hours organizing a single ceremony, and have moving parts already figured out. The wedding ceremony is an once-in-a-lifetime experience, so it’s incredibly satisfying to be a guest at your own.
