I have had many of my clients need wedding planning guidance therefore I decided to write about it and explain what I have learned for your benefit. There are many types of wedding planners. They range from full scale professional planners to the industry professionals at top rated wedding and concierge companies. They are all providing a needed service. There is a differentation to be made between basic wedding planning services verses full scale. Those that offer simple low budget wedding package options are best for couples who have a very limited budget. For couples having a full scale wedding complete with a reception and all the à la carte perks they will need a planner most likely.
Custom Las Vegas Weddings has been helping couples plan their wedding since 1996. We attend the school of industry experience and are certified professionals. We work with local business owners and provide you with our experience. The fees for our planning services are included in our wedding packages and we cater affordable wedding packages on location. The wedding packages we provide are suitable for any budget, from the small to the large; we help you plan a memorable wedding.
In Las Vegas, there are attractive alternatives that cater to every taste imaginable. The romantic nightlife wedding with its pulse beat of activity does not need a professional wedding planner. For instance some of our Las Vegas Strip packages include a limousine tour of the city with photographs at the famous sights in Las Vegas. This is obviously a smaller, more intimate wedding.
The Do It Yourself Reception
If you are having a do it yourself wedding or a small scale in-suite or home wedding and are having 10- 20 guests, you don't really need a planner. Many of my clients rent out houses and just have a back yard barbeque or order in. Consider hiring a caterer to help you if you don't want to have to worry about clean up and food warming and service.
If you want to have a small reception in Las Vegas, here are some suggestions. You would be better off using a wedding company that offers small affordable Las Vegas wedding packages on location and going to a local Las Vegas restaurant or buffet for your reception. This is becoming very popular among my brides due to a limited reception budget and the economic struggles a lot of my couples are experiencing. Up scale Las Vegas buffets are in for weddings. Many of my clients have a limited budget under $2000.00 and this will not be enough to afford a professional planner or have a home wedding receptions. Home wedding receptions are a big do it yourself project you need to be really ready for.
My planning services are a part of my supplied wedding package price. I base it on the needs of my clients. If the client wants flowers, for instance, I will help them research and find the perfect bouquet, plan the delivery and do so as a part of the package with no extra planning fees. I do take a deposit that is applied to the total package price to start the planning services however. I will also arrange limousine services and plan an itinerary of events on the wedding day to help clients know their timeline. We provide an affordable Las Vegas wedding planning alternative for those with a simple budget to get married in Las Vegas.
The Overall Budget
No one really likes to discuss this topic. I often find brides thinking they have a bigger budget than they actually do when they compare notes with their fiance. But budget it is the first consideration in planning your wedding. When I ask brides their budget for flowers for instance they really have no idea what their budget is. Flowers are usually always a lot more expensive than brides realize. They realize this after the quote but it almost never fails that I have brides thinking flowers should be less than they are. An average size bouquet you might see on the internet can be as much as $245.00 and you wouldn't think it. It can be very misleading to assume the bouquet is inexpensive just because it is small. Fresh flowers are expensive! That is the main reason chapels provide a cookie cutter approach for flower bouquets, only offering certain bouquet choices, and it's usally roses, because they are cheaper to offer.
Wedding planning sounds like common sense and after interviewing a lot of brides; I think they feel there is not much to the planning process. The opposite is true. The planning of the wedding is very time consuming and vital to its success. There is something very exciting about being able to choose a venue that fits into what you always imagined for a wedding, be it a large one or a small intimate one, espeically one that is affordable.
Wedding Planner Fees
The fees for the services of a professional wedding planner range from low to high depending on the type of service you would like from the planner. How many guests will be attending your wedding ceremony, and are you going to have a reception? Is the reception in a different venue from the wedding ceremony?
So, If you were to hire a professional wedding planner, the first question is; what is the budget for the wedding? We cannot pretend that money is not a large part of our consideration when planning a wedding. Most professional planners require a retainer fee up front before they will take on the research and effort of investing time in your wedding planning. A mojority of professional planners don't even consider taking on weddings for less than $20,000.00.If you are in need a professional planner that will provide a full scale wedding ceremony, reception, cake tasting services and a host of other services then you should hire a wedding planner. It all depends on your budget. This will come up early in the conversation about your wedding. How many people will you invite to your wedding? Fun fact: people actually go to school to become a qualified professional wedding planners.
The larger wedding party should take into consideration the venue and the ability of that venue to cater to the amount of guests at your wedding. Some venues limit the amount of guests and in Las Vegas it is very difficult to know which location will have the room to accomodate 100 guests for both the wedding ceremony and reception. This is where a wedding planner is essential if you don't want to spend the time researching. When you look for a wedding planner keep in mind, they advertise their fees starting with a base price. Any additional fees are considered add on fees and are based on what happens during the planning. Be prepared for increased expenses, planning does not always work smoothly. Some wedding planners offer a flat fee for their services. Again, it depends on your budget, and how many guests you want to have at your wedding. To save money you may want to hire a wedding planner for only day of coordination services. These services usually range anywhwere from $200.00 an hour on up wtih the average bride needing about 3 hours for simple day of coordination services. These services will help you with keeping timelines, orchestrating processional line-up, music, flower delivery, calling vendors to make sure they arrive on time, paying vendors, helping guests find their transportation and more.
